Brat sticker maker

Type a line, style it, and download a transparent PNG that drops straight into Instagram stories, edits and designs. The checkerboard behind the preview is real transparency, not a grey fill.

What makes a PNG a sticker

Two things: an alpha channel and edges that look deliberate on top of a photo you do not control. This page handles both. The canvas behind the preview is a checkerboard because the pixels around your text really are transparent — what you download is exactly that shape, with nothing filled in. Drop the file into an Instagram story, a video edit or a design app and the background shows through the gaps in the letters, which is the entire difference between a sticker and a screenshot.

The four controls, and what each one is for

  • Ink sets the letter colour. Black and white are the honest choices on busy photos; the green and acid options belong on dark footage.
  • Outline is the single biggest legibility lever. A white ink sticker with a black outline survives almost any background; the same sticker without one disappears over sand, snow or a bright wall. Set the weight once and judge it at the size you will actually post.
  • Tilt exists because a perfectly level sticker reads as added by an app. Two or three degrees is usually the difference between “overlaid” and “placed”.
  • Drop shadow lifts the letters off the footage. Keep it subtle at export size — a heavy shadow at thumbnail scale turns into mud.

Auto-fit is doing the work: the type size is solved from your text length, so the exported image hugs the words with an even margin instead of shipping a canvas full of empty space. Long words that cannot wrap are broken character-by-character, which is also why nonsense strings will not explode the layout.

Getting a clean result on unknown backgrounds

  1. Type the line, all lowercase. Capitals fight the aesthetic and reduce the silhouette that makes stickers read at small sizes.
  2. Start from white ink, black outline, weight 8. That combination is legible on nearly everything.
  3. Toggle the shadow only if the footage is busy; the outline usually does the job alone.
  4. Nudge the tilt until it stops looking stamped on.
  5. Download and preview the file against the brightest and darkest frame it will sit on. If it survives both, it survives your feed.

Where these get used

  • Story and Reel labels that must stay readable over moving footage.
  • Photo dumps, where one sticker per frame carries the date or the joke.
  • Video edits in editors that accept PNG with alpha — the file drops on the timeline without keying.
  • Group assets: export once, share the file, and everyone’s reposts match.

Honest limits

There is no photo upload here, by design: the tool renders text and text effects only, and keeping it that way means nothing you own ever leaves your device. Fonts come from your operating system, so the exact letterforms can differ slightly between machines — that is the trade-off for not shipping a font file. And the export is a single resolution, sized from your text; if you need a specific pixel canvas rather than a trimmed sticker, the template maker is the tool for that job.

FAQ

Is the background really transparent?

Yes. The checkerboard is a pattern behind the canvas, and the exported PNG has an alpha channel with nothing filled in around the letters.

Can I use a photo instead of text?

Not here. This page is a text-sticker tool. Compositing images is a different tool with a different privacy story, and it is not on this site.

Why does my sticker have rough edges?

Outline weight past about 16 at large type sizes starts eating counter shapes. Reduce the weight before blaming the export.

What resolution is the file?

It depends on your text: the canvas is solved from the rendered width of your line plus padding, so short lines give small files that still scale cleanly because the source is vector-shaped at export time.

Does my text get uploaded?

No. The canvas draws in your browser and the PNG is assembled locally. There is no upload step in the code, and nothing is remembered between visits.

Every tool on this page runs inside your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, stored in an account, or logged — there is no upload step in the code. See the privacy policy for the one analytics service used and what it does not collect.
