Independent developer. I build browser-only text tools for people who want their words to look like something — and who do not want to open a design app to get there.

Brat Generator started in late 2024 as a small act of impatience. The lime-green album-cover look had just taken over everyone’s feeds, and the only way to reproduce it was to fire up a graphics program, fight with layers, export, notice the spacing was wrong, and start again. That should have been a five-second job. So I wrote a page that took text and gave you the graphic back immediately. It worked, other people used it, and over the following months it turned into the eight tools you see in the menu now.

I write the guides, I build the tools, and I answer the email. There is no team, no ghost-writer, and no agency behind this domain — which is also why the blog updates when something genuine is worth saying rather than on a content calendar.

What you can actually check

Anyone can put a name on an About page, so here are the claims that cost you nothing to verify:

  • Nothing you type leaves your device. Every tool on this Site is plain JavaScript running in your browser. Right-click, View Source: there is no request that carries your text anywhere. Not to a server, not to an AI API, not to me.
  • There is no account, no upload, and no watermark. If you register nothing, there is nothing of yours to store.
  • The analytics claim is checkable too. Our privacy policy names the one analytics service used (Simple Analytics, cookie-free) and states plainly what we do not run. If that ever changes, the policy changes first.
  • The guides cite primary sources. The long-form articles link to government, university, standards-body and research pages rather than to each other. Follow those links; if a claim cannot survive them, it gets rewritten.

What this site is not

Brat Generator is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from Charli XCX, her label, or the designers of the BRAT album artwork. “Brat” is used here descriptively, as shorthand for a bold low-resolution text-on-solid-colour look that became a shared visual joke online. The aesthetic itself is a style, not a product you can buy from us.

It is also not a news site, not an authority on anything medical, legal or financial, and not a place that will ever ask you for a credit card. It is a toolbox with a blog attached.

Why it is free

The Site is supported by advertising, which is an honest answer to an easy question: hosting and domain costs money, and ads pay for them. That means I would rather you stay ten seconds longer than click one more thing, and it is why the tools have no limits, no “pro” tier, and no rate gate on exports. If a page ever starts behaving like it wants your wallet, that is the moment to stop trusting this About page.

Corrections and contact

If something is broken, mislabelled or simply wrong, say so at [email protected]. Include the page URL and what you expected to happen versus what did. Bug reports get the fastest reply; feature requests get read; anything privacy-related gets handled within a week.

Privacy or removal requests concerning a generated example or an article are taken seriously and do not require an account to file, because there is never an account to find.
